My name is Kathleen Thomas. I am 42 years old and I have Multiple Sclerosis.

I was diagnosed in 2004 at the age of 19. I was a sophomore at Purdue University. Despite trouble walking, I stuck it out and graduated in 2006.

I continued to work and drive even though it became harder. And in 2013, I began law school at Robert H McKinney  law school at Indiana University Purdue University Indianapolis. I attended 2 semesters and interned at the Indiana Civil Rights Commission. However, my body was getting  weaker.

After that summer, I stopped going to school and concentrated on physical therapy. However, by the spring of 2015 I had gotten so weak I had to stop driving. By 2018, I had moved to  Illinois in the hopes of finding more resources per persons with disabilities.

For a few years I lived in a supportive living facility (an assisted living community for adults under the age of 65). While I live there I was falling into a depression as I was trying to cope with the loss of ability. Eventually I moved into my own apartment in 2022. I started learning how to live in my new body.

In 2025, I started 3-D printing and the rest is history!
